Line drawing of a building seen corner on!

Method:
- A2 paper and graphite pencil
- Used a ruler and tried to get the angles and perspectives as close as possible
- Used proportional calculations to match lines from front to back that would diminish in width and this was quite tricky
- had to good how to find centres of rectangles when not flat – centre point where two diagonal lines from opposite corners cross!
Extension of the paper to capture the vanishing points:

Reflections:
- I didn’t realise how much detail was in this building until I started drawing it – another reason behind why drawings as studies really helps understand a subject!
- Using the vertical part of the corner as a starting point worked well and then measuring from there similar distances from the centre out to get the sides – this helped get the symmetry
- I left all the measuring lines in too as I really want to hear feedback from tutor on the approach and didn’t want to cover them over. It can also help me in the future if I go back and learn from some of the things that went well and what didnt
- I think I captured well enough the horizontal measurements and didn’t take this on the same with the vertical alignments – lessons learnt as the windows on the right vertically are not as well aligned with the slant of the edge to showcase the distance from my eyeline
- Dividing the building into four levels of horizontal areas worked well to not get overwhelmed by all the detail
- next time need to consider the vertical lines differently too
- Being this precise takes ages and I need to buy bigger rules and some triangular ones too if were to want to draw to this detail with buildings
- When I attached more paper to the sides to get the vanishing points – they weren’t perfectly coming together but they were quite close considering I was guesstimating – this was really useful to see where I could have adjusted to be more precise
